Access (Directions)
Please note:
There are two temples named Honkouji in Ichikawa City: one in Ono Town and one in Nakayama. Our Honkouji is the one in Ono Town. There is also a Honshouji Temple close by which is often mistaken for our temple, so please make sure you know which temple you want to visit.

Train access
2 minutes on foot from JR Musashino Line Ichikawa-Ono Station
Get off at Ichikawa-Ono Station and turn left on the street in front of the exit. Go up the hill and pass the JA, and when you get to the next stoplight, Honkouji will be on the left.
Access by car
Fully-equipped parking lot available
Our parking lot is equipped to accommodate about 30 cars. Please make use of it.
Honkouji Parking Lot
From Matsudo/Abiko/Kashiwa/Nagareyama/Misato/Yashio
From Route 464:
↓
When you hit the stoplight Ono Iriguchi, turn in the direction of Route 14 and go straight.
↓
After 1 km, you will see a 7-Eleven on your left.
↓
At the next stoplight, the parking lot for Honkouji will be on the right.

From Tokyo/Motoyawata
Take the Keiyo Road Ichikawa Exit and head toward Ichikawa.
↓
After 1 km, you’ll hit Route 14. At the stoplight Ichikawa Interchange Iriguchi, turn left and head toward Matsudo.
↓
After 700 m, you’ll hit Route 51. Turn right at the stoplight Motoyawata Station Entrance and head toward Matsudo.
↓
Go straight about 4.5 km and you’ll see Ichikawa-Ono Station on the left. Go underneath the tracks, and about 200 meters ahead you’ll see a stoplight with the parking lot for Honkouji on the left.

From Ichihara/Chiba/Narashino/Yachiyo/Funabashi
Take the Keiyo Road and go right at Haraki Exit. Then go straight to continue on Route 180.

After 4 km, you will see a McDonald’s on your right.
↓
Turn right toward Kamagaya at the next stoplight, Ogashiwabashi.
↓
700 meters ahead, you will see Buddhist Shrine Center Nagisa on the right.
↓
Go under the tracks just ahead, and turn left at the stoplight.
↓
Go 500 meters and you will see Jyokoji Kindergarten on the right.
↓ The parking lot for Honkouji is at the next stoplight.
